Yacht Charter Šibenik
Sibenik is an excellent yacht charter base in Croatia, and very popular with boaters. This ancient Dalmatian town is situated in a beautiful bay, where the Krka river enters the sea. Well situated right in the middle of the Croatian Adriatic, from here you can sail the Sibenik Archipelago and enjoy this area of outstanding natural beauty. The channel of St. Anthony, connects Sibenik to the open sea. At the entrance to the channel is the impressive renaissance fortress of St. Nicholas. From one side of town, you will see the sea, bay and islands and on the other side, five rivers, thirteen lakes, and eight waterfalls. All this makes Šibenik incredible.
Charters departing from the Sibenik area have access to some fine cruising grounds which will make your sailing vacation in Croatia something special. Sibenik is very well connected with other Croatian and European cities. The Adriatic coastal road, highway is very close, as well as bus and train lines. Ferries from Italy come into Zadar and Split. The closest international airport is in Split, located 70 kilometers away. Zadar International Airport is about 75 kilometres away. A wonderful starting place for a yacht charter in Croatia.
Sailing conditions are excellent and navigation straightforward. Mild winds, sunny weather and minimal strong currents and tides virtually guarantee a great sailing holiday. The prevailing winds are the friendly Maestral from the North West, the Bora from the North East, and Sirocco and Jugo winds from the South/South East. Care should be taken with the Bora as it can be gusty and sudden. Some of the best Mediterranean sailing there is.
